Position Summary:
The Property Management Accounting Specialist will act as the property book officer within both operational and generating force units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the Army's organizational property accountability systems.
  • Assess and supervise subordinate supply operations while executing financial inventory accounting and advising commanders on property accountability and redistribution protocols.
  • Ensure complete property accountability is upheld, confirming that all authorized equipment is accounted for, either on hand, under valid requisition, or in accordance with redistribution directives.
  • Identify and procure standard and nonstandard equipment and supplies through military and civilian supply channels to fulfill unit readiness and operational needs.
  • Administer and validate the government purchase card program to mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • Evaluate equipment funding needs and coordinate with supported units and resource management for fund availability.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and contribute to the annual supply budget.
  • Coordinate the acquisition and prioritized distribution of new equipment with the Force Modernization Activity.
  • Redistribute surplus equipment throughout the command.
  • Process surplus equipment for disposal after all redistribution efforts have been exhausted.
  • Monitor unit supply operations to ensure adherence to policy.
  • Maintain fiduciary records for government property provided under government contracts.
  • Manage the command supply discipline program.
  • Train, develop, and mentor both supply and non-supply personnel on supply policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Act as the primary advisor to the command and supported units on all matters related to property accountability and organizational supply.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
