Job Summary

Vanguard is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management professional to join our team as the Head of Risk, Global Investment Service and Operations. This role will be responsible for leading the risk management function for Vanguard's global investment operations, ensuring that risk is effectively managed and mitigated to protect the company's assets and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the risk management function for Vanguard's global investment operations, developing and implementing risk management strategies and frameworks to ensure effective risk oversight and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with senior management and risk partners across the enterprise to identify, assess, and prioritize risks, and develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management program, including risk assessments, risk monitoring, and risk reporting.
  • Provide risk guidance and oversight to business leaders and risk teams, ensuring that risk management is integrated into business decision-making.
  • Lead risk initiatives and projects, working with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and manage risk.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, risk partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in risk management, and apply this knowledge to inform risk management strategies and decisions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in risk management, with 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or risk certification desirable.
