Position Overview

The HR Intern role at Make the Road States (MRstates) offers a unique opportunity to engage with a multi-faceted organization dedicated to advocating for working-class individuals, immigrants, women, LGBTQIA communities, and people of color. Learning Objectives

As an intern, you will gain insights into:

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with employee payroll notices and reports.
  • Supporting job advertisement initiatives.
  • Helping to create and maintain employee files.
  • Assisting in benefits administration.
  • Carrying out various HR administrative tasks.
  • Preparing welcome packages for new employees.
  • Managing shared databases effectively.
  • Participating in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Contributing to various projects as needed.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 with an FDA-approved vaccine prior to starting.
  • A commitment to human rights and social justice.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience or exposure.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A strong interest in serving the Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities through nonprofit HR operations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Compensation and Benefits

MRstates provides sick leave benefits. The hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.00 to $18.00.
