Job Summary:

Banko Overhead Doors is seeking a skilled and experienced Garage Door Service Technician Lead to fill a key role in our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of service technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and providing expert-level installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial garage doors and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision:
    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of service technicians to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
    • Assign daily work orders and ensure timely completion, prioritizing tasks to meet customer needs and company objectives.
    • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback to help team members improve their skills and address any areas of concern.
  • Installation and Repair:
    • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of garage doors, openers, and related components, ensuring all work is performed to company standards and customer satisfaction.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with garage doors and openers, using technical expertise to resolve complex problems.
    • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Customer Service:
    • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
    • Provide estimates and quotes for repair and installation services, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all interactions with customers.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure adherence to company standards and customer expectations.
    • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, products, and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to the team, helping to resolve complex issues and improve technical skills.
    • Assist in complex installations and repairs as needed, using technical expertise to resolve complex problems.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and manage inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
    • Order necessary parts and ensure stock levels are maintained, ensuring timely delivery of parts and equipment.
    • Track and report usage of materials and supplies, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in garage door installation, maintenance, and repair, with a proven track record of success.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred, or demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical and mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Certifications:
    • Certification from the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA) is a plus, demonstrating a commitment to industry excellence and professionalism.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of equipment and personnel.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
    • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions, with a focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
