Position Overview

Zoom is in search of skilled Live Systems Operations Engineers to become integral members of our Meeting Operations Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Zoom's high-traffic, mission-critical communication systems, focusing on the planning, design, and implementation of scalable network solutions for video conferencing and live streaming.

About the Team

The Meeting Operations Team at Zoom is dedicated to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our meeting services. This is achieved through performance monitoring, incident management, and infrastructure optimization. Our team leverages automation, collaborates with various departments, and enforces security protocols to deliver a seamless and secure user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting large-scale software application configuration and deployment for core services that drive Zoom video conferencing.
  • Creating tools to automate and enhance production support tasks; implementing SRE monitoring for critical systems.
  • Utilizing advanced DevOps technologies and best practices to continuously refine our global deployment infrastructure, aiming to enhance deployment speed and reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Security, and Data to ensure the reliability and availability of production services.
  • Providing escalation support for production issues.
  • Sharing on-call service responsibilities with other team members.
  • Engaging in capacity planning and scaling services on a global scale.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps Engineer role.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and Linux command line utilities.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, C++, and Java.
  • Experience in automating the build process for complex production software systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Jenkins, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
  • In-depth understanding of the network stack and application networking.
  • Solid troubleshooting experience in large-scale production environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

Compensation

Salary Range:

Minimum: $83,700.00

Maximum: $178,000.00
