Procurement Specialist

Overview:
Summary
The Procurement Specialist is tasked with the issuance and management of purchase orders, overseeing Overage, Shortage, and Damaged (OS&D) goods, and collaborating with the RDC to fulfill customer service needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions (To excel in this role, the incumbent must effectively perform each essential duty. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.)
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs) for designated suppliers
- Update suppliers regarding the status of open orders
- Ensure timely delivery and accuracy of orders with suppliers concerning the shipping process
- Handle urgent parts orders and provide specific shipping instructions to suppliers
- Engage with suppliers about their performance and develop strategies for enhancement
- Oversee Overage, Shortage, and Damaged (OS&D) goods
- Prepare suppliers for OS&D and present improvement strategies to the Procurement department
- Manage accounts payable for suppliers and resolve all payment-related inquiries
- Ensure compliance with existing contracts based on OEM agreements
- Conduct supplier training; assist new suppliers with order management expectations and
- Confirm supply parts and units for new model launches and newly released OP parts
- Analyze supply fill rates, critical backorder parts, due-in parts, and overdue parts
- Relay all supplier information to the sales team
- Assist suppliers, pricing teams, and Mobis RDC with technical inquiries and issues; provide relevant
- Regularly visit suppliers or conduct phone conferences with distant suppliers to cultivate strong
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with relevant work experience; an Associate's Degree may be considered if the field of study is pertinent and there is applicable work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to comprehend technical issues in production
- Capacity for critical thinking to identify root causes and formulate solutions/countermeasures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey detailed information accurately
- Proficient in data extraction from systems and analyzing trends, reporting findings logically
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Sales Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; experience in Warehousing/Purchasing, Customer Service, or Sales is preferred

- Position hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime as required
- 100% office-based role
- 20% domestic and international travel
