SENIOR BUYER/PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist (Sr. Buyer) to join our dynamic team in Montgomery, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing goods and services following departmental policies and procedures, while maintaining inventory levels for raw materials (RM) and packaging SKUs. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the organizations supply chain strategies, ensuring optimal vendor relationships, and securing cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing & Procurement: Source goods, materials, and services aligned with established supply chain strategies.
• Inventory Management: Conduct scheduled inventory counts and coordinate with managers to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Vendor Evaluation: Assess vendors based on pricing, reliability, capability, and transaction history.
• Negotiation: Work with vendors to secure volume, cash transaction discounts, and additional savings opportunities.
• Contract Management: Ensure purchasing documents are accurate and maintain long-term vendor agreements for cost efficiency.
• Data Maintenance: Track pricing histories and maintain detailed vendor records for reference and reporting.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams and support logistics operations when needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or a relevant field is required.
• Skills:
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in presentation software (PowerPoint) and project management tools.
• Languages: Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to assess purchasing needs.
• Travel may be required.

Salary: $65K-$75K- commensurate with experience
