Position Summary:

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in the acquisition of goods and services for the organization, ensuring that products are sourced at optimal prices and quality. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to manage inventory levels, negotiate terms, and maintain efficient procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Relations: Assist in the identification, evaluation, and selection of suppliers and vendors. Foster relationships with existing suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and collaborate with supplier quality or engineering teams to address any issues.
  • Order Management: Process purchase orders, monitor shipments, and ensure the accurate and timely arrival of goods. Track order status and communicate with suppliers as necessary. You will handle commodities such as raw materials, plastics, paper, and consumables.
  • Negotiation Support: Aid Senior Buyers in distributing supplier scorecards and open order reports to the supply base.
  • Data Management: Maintain precise records of purchases, inventory, and supplier information. Generate reports as needed to monitor procurement activities and performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations and standards concerning procurement and purchasing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are advantageous.
  • Experience: Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field is preferred. Internships or coursework in procurement can be beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and organizational abilities. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with procurement software.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
