Classification Overview:
Under general supervision, the Information Systems Specialist engages in professional-level analysis of information systems, focusing on the development, installation, and maintenance of software applications and hardware systems. This role involves administering personal computer systems and local area networks (LAN), along with executing various technical tasks pertinent to assigned responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis and maintenance of software applications.
- Design and execute testing protocols for computer programs, collaborating with staff and end-users to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Create scripts and codes to facilitate alternative access to relational databases.
- Generate custom reports utilizing various report writing tools.
- Address user inquiries regarding system operations and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
- Deliver user training for software applications and develop comprehensive training manuals.
- Administer local area network systems, including the procurement and installation of necessary equipment.
- Evaluate and resolve software issues, and recommend enhancements as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of software licenses and manage citywide software resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
