As the Chief Financial Officer, you will engage in the strategic planning, development, and execution of our City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring its seamless integration with our financial modules and other departmental information systems. Your knowledge will also be vital in enhancing our software applications and improving internal communications within the Finance Division.
Collaboration with the City Administrator and Department Heads will be key, as you will report directly to them and provide valuable insights to support the City's financial operations and strategic objectives. ROLE SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer is tasked with overseeing, directing, and managing the activities of the Finance Division while performing advanced professional-level financial analysis. This role encompasses policy development and revision responsibilities and requires the ability to articulate and clarify policies to colleagues within the Finance Division and across various City departments. You will play a crucial role in the planning, development, implementation, operation, and coordination of the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, integrating it with financial modules and data interfaces from various departmental information systems.
WORK SCHEDULE: Standard hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional after-hours commitments.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: The starting salary range is $101,000 to $125,000. Candidates exceeding the minimum qualifications may be eligible for a higher starting salary. For comprehensive compensation and benefits information, please refer to the provided link.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required. Alternatively, six (6) years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance may be considered. A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting or finance, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role, preferably within a municipal government context, is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Certificate in Public Accounting is highly desirable. A Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is also preferred. Experience in a municipal government setting is advantageous.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and demonstrate a strong commitment to the department's objectives, working collaboratively with City leadership. Exceptional customer service skills are essential for both internal and external stakeholders. A high degree of integrity, a robust work ethic, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal communication abilities, and good organizational and project management skills are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Word and Excel, is expected. Candidates must have no felony convictions during their employment with the City. A valid driver's license and insurability under the City's motor vehicle coverage are required. Adherence to safety standards and the ability to pass background checks and drug screenings are mandatory.
