Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the head of the relevant Division, Department, or Program, the short-term support staff member will deliver essential services to assist regular employees by executing a variety of temporary tasks.

Short-term support staff are classified as non-academic and non-classified employees, meaning they are at-will and do not possess entitlement rights to any position within the organization, nor are they eligible for benefits. Their employment is designed to fulfill specific, non-recurring tasks that do not form a permanent part of the organization's operations.

These employees may be engaged for one-time events that occur sporadically.

Short-term non-classified staff are limited to a maximum of 160 working days within a fiscal year and may not exceed 19 working hours per week. They are permitted to hold only one primary assignment within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
On a temporary basis, provide technical support to various divisions, departments, events, and programs. Additional related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Education and Experience:
  1. Dependent on the specific Division, Department, or Program assignment.
  2. Or, any combination of education and experience that would provide the required equivalent qualifications.
Licenses or Other Requirements:
Some assignments may necessitate a valid driver's license and/or completion of a relevant certification from an accredited institution. Ongoing education, training, or certification may be required.

Knowledge and Skills:

Dependent on the specific Division, Department, or Program assignment.

Conditions of Employment:

Under direct supervision, the short-term support employee will provide services to assist regular staff by performing various temporary tasks.

These employees are not part of the classified service and are at-will, with no entitlement rights to any position within the organization. Their employment is intended for specific tasks that are not ongoing and do not constitute a permanent component of the organization's operations.

Employment is contingent upon verification of employment history, background checks as per organizational policies, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the Board of Trustees. Short-term assignments do not include fringe benefits or compensation for holidays or unworked time, but sick leave is available per labor regulations.
