Job Summary
As a Service Dispatcher with Armstrong Air & Heating, Inc., you will play a vital role in the administration and field productivity of our Service Department. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will assist in achieving the corporate strategic plan by providing exceptional customer service, scheduling service jobs, and training field technicians. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Service Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating department resources and goals.
  • Schedule service jobs considering job complexity, technician experience, and capabilities.
  • Train field technicians in customer service, non-technical procedures, sales, and marketing techniques.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the accounts receivable staff to collect problem accounts, negotiate credit, and build the customer base.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the Parts Runner's time with the Installation Manager.
  • Support all Department Managers in achieving Service Department goals and objectives.
  • Help resolve customer complaints efficiently and report incidents to the Service Manager.
  • Work with suppliers on parts performance, reliability, pricing, and availability, and report issues to the Service Manager.
  • Perform other staff-level duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Requirements
  • Proven supervisory experience in a customer service environment, preferably in HVACR contracting or building services.
  • Ability to negotiate orders with suppliers for prompt and timely material receipt at the best price.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including diverse customer groups, all personnel levels, suppliers, and the hearing impaired.
  • Basic knowledge of HVACR technology, including support and advice to on-site technicians.
  • Knowledge of HVACR-related terms, training, job-costing, marketing, and sales.
  • Ability to work non-standard schedules, including emergency service calls and on-call TT calls from hearing impaired customers.
  • Ability to serve as Service Manager in their absence.
  • Physical ability to meet with customers on job-sites, demonstrating Armstrong Air & Heating, Inc.'s commitment to superior customer service.
  • Skills to sell service jobs and service contracts face-to-face, in writing, and over the phone.
  • Ability to comprehend and implement federal, state, and local government laws, rules, and regulations for the HVACR industry.
  • Current state driver's license.
