GENERAL SUMMARY:
Educators within the Saginaw Area Consortium are tasked with designing, organizing, and executing a suitable instructional framework in a learning atmosphere that fosters and motivates students to realize and achieve their academic capabilities. Our educators are dedicated to and focused on significant school improvement.

The Saginaw Area Consortium, in collaboration with families, students, businesses, and the community, is committed to ensuring the highest level of academic success and career preparation for all students, maintaining a high-performing organizational structure at all levels, and providing a safe and effective learning environment for every student.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Design, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that promote active learning;
  2. Create comprehensive lesson plans and schemes of work;
  3. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
  4. Prepare the classroom for engaging learning experiences;
  5. Provide diverse learning materials and resources for educational activities;
  6. Select various instructional resources and methods to cater to students' diverse needs;
  7. Guide and monitor students in utilizing learning materials and equipment;
  8. Incorporate relevant technology to enhance instruction;
  9. Observe and assess student performance and development;
  10. Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and assignments;
  11. Offer constructive feedback on student work;
  12. Encourage and track individual student progress;
  13. Maintain accurate records of student progress and development;
  14. Update necessary records as required by laws and regulations;
  15. Prepare reports on student activities and performance;
  16. Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom rules;
  17. Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies;
  18. Apply appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary;
  19. Engage in pastoral duties, including student support and counseling;
  20. Participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs and sports;
  21. Attend department and school meetings, including parent meetings;
  22. Communicate essential information regularly to students, colleagues, and families regarding student progress;
  23. Stay updated on developments in the subject area and instructional methods;
  24. Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution;
  2. Fulfillment of professional teacher education requirements;
  3. Single subject teaching credential or certification for specialized subjects;
  4. State certification with necessary endorsements for specific subject areas;
  5. Relevant teaching experience.
