Job OverviewPosition Summary

The Culinary Training Specialist is accountable for the creation and implementation of a robust training program aimed at educating and empowering Team Members and Leaders within the Food & Beverage Department. This role ensures adherence to regulatory standards while enhancing the Guest Service experience as per Soboba Casino Resort's established Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety training initiatives covering essential topics such as food safety, allergen awareness, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Evaluate service gaps and identify training requirements through comprehensive assessments.
  • Design and curate training materials, selecting effective instructional techniques tailored to the audience.
  • Deliver training sessions for Food & Beverage Managers, Supervisors, and Team Members to foster skill development.
  • Track and assess guest service performance against Soboba Service Standards.
  • Innovate methods to encourage ongoing compliance with Service Standards through recognition programs and incentives.
  • Support the onboarding process for new Food & Beverage team members.
  • Coordinate and facilitate mandatory regulatory training sessions.
  • Implement and uphold new regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process to ensure sufficient resources for training initiatives.
  • Monitor operational processes and conduct inspections to guarantee compliance within the Food & Beverage department.
  • Guide team members in minimizing food safety risks and achieving quality service expectations.
  • Contribute to the Team Member Enhancement Training program by developing training manuals and assessment tools.
  • Maintain training records and generate reports to evaluate instructor performance and trainee progress.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A 4-year degree in a relevant field such as training, education, or business is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Food and Beverage training and Food Safety Training is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Food & Beverage and guest service within the hospitality sector is necessary.
  • TIPS Certification as an Alcohol Awareness Certified Trainer is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, or Facilitator is essential.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and implementation.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and online training tools is required.
  • Proven ability to execute the full training cycle, including needs assessment, planning, development, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain a professional image.
  • Ability to assess learning needs, develop training strategies, and track training outcomes.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including MS Office and restaurant management systems.
  • Certification in training instruction from a recognized professional training organization is desired.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to pass drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Must obtain and maintain a County of Riverside Food Handlers Card.
  • Must obtain and maintain TIPs (Training for Intervention Procedures) Certification.
