Job Description

Overview:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Culinary Specialist to contribute to our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for culinary arts and have substantial experience in food preparation.

The primary responsibility of a Culinary Specialist is to create exceptional dishes for our patrons. The satisfaction of our guests is closely tied to the presentation, quality, and overall experience of the dining service. This role involves the daily preparation of food items across various kitchen stations. As a Culinary Specialist, collaboration with fellow team members is essential to ensure an outstanding dining experience. A successful candidate will demonstrate initiative and creativity in overcoming challenges while seeking guidance from management when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and sets up the workstation according to the guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as instructed, ensuring cleanliness and timeliness.
  • Adheres to recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards established by the Chef.
  • Restocks ingredients and supplies as needed throughout the shift.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workstation while practicing excellent safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper equipment usage and maintenance in the kitchen.
  • Assists in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience as a Cook or in a relevant culinary role.

Preferred experience in breakfast preparation.

Knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficient in professional cooking and knife skills.
  • Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Prior experience as a prep or line cook is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively.
  • Capacity to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organizational abilities.
  • Commitment to quality service and knowledge of food and beverage.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to comprehend and execute cooking instructions.
