Summary

The Merchandising Training Specialist is responsible for delivering training to new merchandisers and providing support to Merchandising leadership. The primary focus of this role is to effectively instruct new employees on the proper execution of all merchandising functions, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the company's standards of service excellence. This position requires effective teaching skills, a solid understanding of merchandising processes and technologies, as well as adherence to ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages' safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom and in-store training for new or existing merchandisers on all facets of merchandising. Provide guidance on expectations, service standards, and functional technical knowledge.
  • Monitor employee progress, document opportunities, perform evaluations, and identify gaps. Offer feedback and additional support as necessary. Communicate with department supervisors and leadership regarding the training progress of new hires.
  • Implement training best practices and recommend updates to current curriculum. Maintain and refresh learning content in ABARTA's learning management system.
  • Coordinate training schedules with the Talent Acquisition team and arrange route coverage for in-market activities as needed throughout the training duration.
  • Assist Supervisors with field safety audits, incident investigations, mileage reimbursement auditing, and retraining.
  • Review timekeeping records in collaboration with TKA and merchandising supervisors to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of training or coaching experience required. Prior experience in merchandising consumer products or retail is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary. Experience with learning management systems is preferred. Intermediate computer application and technology skills are required, including knowledge of operating a smartphone and/or laptop. A valid Driver's License and a driving record within MVR policy guidelines are necessary, along with pallet jack certification as required. Beverage/food merchandising experience is preferred.
