Position Overview

The Merchandising Training Specialist is responsible for delivering training to new merchandisers and providing support to the Merchandising leadership team. The primary focus of this role is to effectively instruct new employees on the correct execution of all merchandising functions, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the company's standards of service excellence. This position requires strong teaching abilities, a solid understanding of merchandising processes and technologies, as well as adherence to ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages' safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom and in-store training sessions for new or existing merchandisers, covering all aspects of merchandising. Provide training on expectations, service standards, and technical knowledge.
  • Monitor the progress of trainees, document opportunities for improvement, conduct evaluations, and identify skill gaps. Offer feedback and additional support as necessary. Communicate training progress to department supervisors and leadership.
  • Implement training best practices and recommend updates to the existing curriculum. Maintain and enhance learning content within ABARTA's learning management system.
  • Coordinate training schedules with the Talent Acquisition team and arrange route coverage for in-market activities as needed during training sessions.
  • Assist Supervisors with field safety audits, incident investigations, mileage reimbursement auditing, and retraining initiatives.
  • Review timekeeping records in collaboration with the merchandising supervisor to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of training or coaching experience required. Previous experience in merchandising consumer products or retail is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary. Experience with learning management systems is preferred. Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with operating smartphones and laptops are required. A valid Driver's License and a driving record that meets MVR policy guidelines are necessary, along with pallet jack certification as needed. Experience in beverage or food merchandising is preferred.
