Lead Veterinarian Position Available

Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000 per year (DOE)

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced veterinarian to lead our veterinary services team at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. As a Lead Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing medical care to animals in our shelter and overseeing the implementation of veterinary medical protocols and procedures.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of animal welfare professionals and contribute to the advancement of animal health and well-being in our community. As a Lead Veterinarian, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide a team of veterinarians and support staff, ensuring that they are equipped to provide the highest level of medical care to animals in our shelter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the medical care of animals in our shelter, including diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Develop and implement veterinary medical protocols and procedures for all departments and programs.
  • Mentor, guide and train veterinarians, staff and volunteers to promote excellence in veterinary medical care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years working with animals in a clinical environment, preferably in a shelter setting.
  • Possession of a valid California State License to practice veterinary medicine and a DEA license.
