Job Summary:

As a senior product owner within the Digital Supply Chain, you will be responsible for leading the development of Network Planning and Execution tool, specifically Supply Planning module, to enable supplier planning and constraint processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with process owners and leaders within SPPD and Procurement Verticals to gather functional requirements and translate/prioritize into development packages working with the technology supplier.
  • Lead with the technology supplier to design, configure, validate and deploy enhancements in support of additional capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business process team, Cat IT, and data stewards and scientists to follow through on execution of selected projects on time, on budget, and on scope.
  • Lead development of standard work and support training initiatives for the user community to facilitate the utilization and adoption of the platform.
  • Identify, document, and fix design, reliability, data quality and maintenance problems and bugs. Gather and consolidate feedback from customers and process partners.
  • Coordinate with business support specialists and customers to address and resolve problems and expand product usage.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap for near term/tactical and long term/strategic projects for continuous improvement of the application.
  • Maintain product KPIs and reports out to stakeholders on a monthly basis.
  • Accountable for overall product quality including leading User Acceptance Testing and Validation related to new capability deployments.
  • Accountable for end users adoption including supporting development of communication and change management plans to increase tool usage with target user group.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree within the engineering or technology space- industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, supply chain management, computer science, computer engineering
  • Business Analysis: Analyzes the value of a business and its functions through the value estimation of assets. Applies the prerequisites to a project before starting the business analysis process. Collaborates with stakeholders, development teams, testing teams, etc., to deliver business solutions.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Differentiates assumptions, perspectives, and historical frameworks. Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process. Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact.
  • Effective Communications: Creates strong relationships with technology suppliers to deliver on business objectives. Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience. Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
  • Relationship Management: Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties. Participates in negotiating the terms of the business relationship. Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.
  • Software Change Request Management: Describes methods for estimating costs for request fulfillment. Defines responses for non-standard or unsupported change requests. Contributes to the design and development of request process flow and templates.
  • Software Problem Management: Documents resolution progress and provides feedback to customers. Describes issues and consideration for resolving problems involving other products or vendors.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Participates in enhancing the sales process and expanding sales opportunities. Collects, documents, and maintains product functional requirements; makes recommendations.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Compares and contrasts features and benefits of major acceptance testing frameworks. Critiques user acceptance plans for appropriateness and completeness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Engineering or Business and/or certifications in Supply Chain Management area
  • Understanding of Caterpillar's supply network, materials management, supply planning, and S&OP processes
  • Be digital minded, to understand and leverage the underlying technologies / digital solutions to drive business process transformation
