Role Overview: The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of established nursing care policies and programs within the unit. This includes managing scheduling, personnel, compliance with PPS and MDS, and ongoing resident assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate care and services tailored to resident needs and preferences through continuous assessment.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, addressing any concerns with the Director of Nursing.
- Monitor the health status of assigned residents, providing timely interventions as necessary.
- Conduct daily rounds to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Assist with pre-admission evaluations for prospective residents.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment to enhance care delivery.
- Serve as the primary contact for clinical emergencies and urgent resident condition changes.
- Facilitate care plan coordination and participate in patient care conferences.
- Ensure that admission documentation is complete and compliant with organizational standards.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists, residents, and families.
- Participate in front-line interviews and performance management processes under the guidance of the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Community.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to manage staff effectively.
- Familiarity with Health Department regulations, including annual surveys and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to engage with donors, families, volunteers, residents, and various staff members.
