Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Supervisor provides clinical management to the hospital through organizing, coordinating and monitoring patient care and representing Administration during off hours, weekends and holidays. The Patient Care Supervisor performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at The Medical Center of Aurora.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure. 
  • Current BCLS, ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC. 
  • Current PALS certification required. 
  • Graduate of a certified school of nursing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical RN experience required. ED and/or ICU experience preferred. 
  • Three years progressive supervisory or management experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the practice of nursing theory and process. Demonstrates the ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and to maintain constructive relationships in dealing with them. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Participates in counseling and guidance of personnel. Demonstrates a leadership role with the health team in planning and delivery of patient care.

Located in Aurora, Colorado, The Medical Center of Aurora offers over 346 beds. It has five medical campuses, including the Main South Campus, the North Campus Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Centennial Medical Plaza, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL. The Main Campus is a Level II Trauma Center with Primary Stroke Certification and Chest Pain Center accreditation, serving the eastern metro area and I-70 corridor. The South Campus has a Level III NICU.
