Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Senior Philanthropy Officer located on the West Coast (CA, WA, OR). This role is integral to our established development team, focusing on managing a diverse portfolio of major donors while enhancing Brady's visibility and influence in the region. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in securing substantial contributions, particularly within the philanthropic landscape of key metropolitan areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of major donors, aiming to solicit and nurture contributions exceeding $10,000 from individuals, families, and foundations.
- Build a strong pipeline of potential donors through research, database analysis, and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the major gifts team and leadership to engage donors in advocacy efforts related to gun violence prevention.
- Achieve annual fundraising targets through strategic face-to-face solicitations.
- Prepare comprehensive donor briefings and correspondence, working closely with support staff on proposals and reports.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the West Coast and attend organizational meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising or a related field, with a focus on major gift solicitation.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Proven track record of cultivating relationships and successfully securing six to seven-figure donations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey Brady's mission and initiatives.
- A collaborative team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with donor management systems and advanced proficiency in MS Office and G Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive donor information with discretion.
- Experience in event planning and management.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
