Job Description

The Manufacturing Project Engineer role at Next Level Business Services, Inc. involves providing technical process support for component machining requirements and enterprise process optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing technology and solutions, with experience in managing new capital introduction and implementing manufacturing processes/systems related to machining and grinding of various components.

The incumbent will interface directly with multiple teams, including Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Product Change Control, and Safety. In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement creative solutions and validate effectiveness of changes, including documentation and training of those improvements.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to address Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost opportunities identified through projects.
  • Analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with shop floor operators, Operations staff, Safety, and CPPD with design engineering.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, work on RFQ process, determine prime path, and go through the capital introduction process.
  • Document and develop risk assessment, project plans, and set cadence to the capital management and governance process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 12+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of component machining and grinding concepts.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts (Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma, in-process validations (IPVs), Poka-Yoke design, System/Tooling Controls, etc.).
  • Thorough experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering prints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with designing requirements and managing implementation of capital assets.
  • Experience with CQMS certification requirements, NPI, APQP, and PPAP processes (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams).
  • Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Background in DMAIC, Lean Principles.
  • Experience with Siemens NX and CNC programming.
  • Experience with machine tool connectivity.
  • Experience with gear machining and grinding processes.
  • Experience with machining hardened steel components.
