POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing the operational and financial aspects of the Graduate Medical Education Department, including its accredited and non-accredited residency and fellowship training programs. The position demands a thorough understanding of national accreditation standards, educational administration, and hospital protocols, coupled with a high level of initiative and independent decision-making.

This leader will continuously evaluate and guide a variety of programmatic challenges, including long-term strategic planning and the submission of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program applications. The individual will ensure that various administrative committees, such as the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), Clinical Competency Committees, and Program Evaluation Committees, function in compliance with ACGME standards.

In collaboration with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Program Directors (PD), this position will oversee research initiatives related to the GME Program. Responsibilities also include planning and managing the recruitment of residents, supervising all medical residency Program Coordinators, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflows, maintaining databases and GME web content, and facilitating communication with faculty and trainees on a range of issues. Additionally, the role involves managing internal and external program relationships, including allied health rotations and Nursing Administration, as well as overseeing the operations of the Simulation Learning Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or Education is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of administrative or management experience is required, with a preference for experience in healthcare or educational administration.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
4. Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
5. The ability to manage sensitive information with complete confidentiality is necessary.
6. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are required.
7. Knowledge of ACGME rules and regulations must be acquired within six (6) months of hire.
