POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role is pivotal in overseeing the operational and financial aspects of the Graduate Medical Education Department, including both accredited and non-accredited residency and fellowship training programs. The position demands a thorough understanding of national accreditation standards, educational governance, and hospital protocols, coupled with a strong capacity for independent decision-making and initiative.

This role involves continuous evaluation and management of a variety of programmatic challenges, including strategic planning and the submission of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program applications. The incumbent will ensure that essential administrative committees, such as the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), Clinical Competency Committees, and Program Evaluation Committees, function in alignment with ACGME standards.

Additionally, the position entails overseeing research initiatives related to the Graduate Medical Education Program in collaboration with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Program Directors (PD). Responsibilities include orchestrating the recruitment process for residents, supervising all medical residency Program Coordinators, and developing projects that enhance administrative workflows. The role also involves maintaining databases and GME web content, facilitating communication with faculty and trainees on various matters, and managing both internal and external program relationships, including those related to allied health rotations.

Furthermore, the position encompasses oversight of the Simulation Learning Center and its operational activities. The individual will report to both the DIO and the Chair of the Graduate Medical Education program.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or Education is mandatory; a Master's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of administrative or management experience is essential, with a preference for experience in healthcare or educational administration.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
4. Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is necessary.
5. The ability to manage sensitive information with utmost confidentiality is crucial.
6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are required.
7. Familiarity with ACGME rules and regulations must be acquired within six (6) months of employment.
