Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ISP Network Technician to join our team at By Light Professional IT Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support customer telephone requirements, including responding to service requests and isolating and repairing telephone troubles.
  • Process requests for all moves, adds, and changes requirements utilizing the TMS.
  • Maintain all network cabling infrastructure, network equipment, voice, video, data systems, and ancillary equipment.
  • Install, remove, and move all instruments, service lines, and LAN service associated with Administrative Telephone Services and Information Technology Services.
  • Install Wireless Network Access Points to support access to the installation infrastructure.
  • Support emergency work requests within two hours of oral or written notification.
  • Participate and provide technical support to engineering design reviews, technical working groups, Change Control Board process/board, and miscellaneous meetings and briefings.
  • Provide property accountability for all accountable telecommunication equipment using the standard Army accountability system for all O&M maintenance actions.
  • Support after-duty hour emergency maintenance requirements that include the restoral and/or other actions that cannot wait until normal duty hours.
Requirements
  • Possess an associate's degree or a high school graduate with 4 years of ISP experience.
  • Minimum of three years' ISP experience on maintenance, installation, testing, patching, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Qualified to support ISP requirements to include the installation, operation, and maintenance of voice and infrastructure services.
  • Proficient in site safety, site surveys, blueprint reading, bonding and grounding (earthing), and firestopping practices.
  • Able to interpret blueprints, applying a standards-compliant labeling scheme (e.g., ANSI/TIA-606).
  • Able to troubleshoot Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) link/channel with a certification test set.
  • Able to troubleshoot an optical fiber channel with an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR).
  • Experienced on the testing and installation of CAT5/CAT6 cable.
  • Has user-level experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Products (including Visio), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Fluent in the spoken and written English language, to include the usage of technical terms commonly used in information technology (IT), network routing and switching, telecommunications, IT maintenance, and technical control facilities.
  • Residential Qualification (On-the-Job) - BICSI Level 1.
  • Has the ability to interface with management and brief senior leadership on status of program status and risks (both technical and programmatic).
