We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician to join our Engineering team in Virginia Beach, VA. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in preparing submittal documents for projects in Southeastern Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare complete construction documents, including plan, section, and detail drawings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, including structural, architectural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Ensure drawing compliance with company and client CAD standards and styles.
- Create layouts from process and instrumentation diagrams, including structural and architectural layouts.
- Consult with clients and members of the design and construction teams to discuss specifications.
- Proof designs for potential errors.
- Present design drafts for clients and team members to assess.
- Make revisions based on feedback.
- Create models of proposed designs, either 2D or 3D, using CAD software.
- Meet with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
- High School Diploma
- 10- to 15-years of experience in project management of construction and pipeline projects and preparing construction documents for land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
- Able to create surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors.
- Able to train junior staff in Civil 3D features.
- Ability to lead production staff to complete deliverables on time.
- Project/Task management experience.
- Experience in monitoring maintenance budgets.
- Experience developing CIP project budgets.
- Experience with asset management.
- Experience with pipeline system condition assessment and rehabilitation.
