Job Summary

Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering, is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our premier dining establishment, Genesis House. As a Senior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our culinary operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and create menus.
  • Introduce new culinary programs in collaboration with the marketing and culinary departments.
  • Assist in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures to maintain efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef.
  • Fine dining experience is preferred, especially in Asian cuisine.
  • Knowledge of food and industry trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel.
  • An Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
