Customer Service Representative/Scheduler

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative/Scheduler to join our team at Sentara. As a key member of our Clinical Access Centralized Scheduling Department, you will be responsible for handling incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Handle incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education.
- Responsible for all areas of customer service as it pertains to research and resolution of telephone inquiries related to plan prescription benefits, eligibility, or claim payment issues.
- Primarily responsible for handling incoming calls to effectively address eligibility, claim, and payment issues or to address and perform patient scheduling and referral work.
- Schedule a high volume of procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system.
- Accountable for accurately and completely obtaining required information in the scheduling process, ensuring the correct patient and procedure requested has been scheduled.
- Responsible for order entry process, communications, guest relations, medical record maintenance/analysis, and various clerical duties within scope of role.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of customer service experience, with experience in a hospital or physician's office setting preferred.
- High volume call center experience preferred.
- Epic EMR experience preferred.
- Data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
