Job Overview

Position Summary: The IT Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing computer systems and peripheral devices to ensure efficient data processing. This role involves supporting the organization's IT infrastructure and collaborating with international teams to maintain a seamless operational flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary contact between IT departments in the USA and Japan to address and resolve IT-related challenges within the global framework.
  • Represent the USA IT team in global internet design initiatives led by the parent company.
  • Coordinate IT projects and activities across international borders, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and setup for Japanese executives and employees in the USA office, including installation of PCs and notebooks.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance operational consistency.
  • Conduct regular audits of hardware and software to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Deliver IT helpdesk support to maintain high levels of user satisfaction.
  • Manage procurement processes with software and hardware vendors to ensure timely acquisition of necessary resources.
  • Monitor server performance and application issues, coordinating with system administrators to resolve any downtime effectively.
  • Offer comprehensive support for computer hardware and software, including systems running Japanese operating environments.
  • Operate and troubleshoot peripheral equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly.
  • Document and report any operational issues, including downtime and corrective actions taken.
  • Oversee the scheduling and replacement of PCs, notebooks, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist business users with mobile device setup and support remote users with VPN connectivity issues.
  • Monitor ERP batch jobs and address any issues that arise during processing.
  • Collaborate with programmers to address application-related concerns and improve system functionality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the printer and computer rooms.
  • Recommend enhancements to programs and quality control measures to boost operational efficiency.
  • Perform regular data backups and ensure system mirroring is properly synchronized.
  • Engage with supervisors regarding equipment performance and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide application support for various business systems, including warehouse and shipping applications.
  • Generate and develop business reports as required by users.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to warehouse and shipping systems.
  • Identify and resolve problems within business applications to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide hardware and software support as needed and assist with system administration tasks.
