Job Summary:

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Multnomah Education Service District. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and identifying fine motor and functional skills in students grades K-12, and developing and implementing instructional and therapeutic interventions as indicated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, evaluate and analyze students' ability to access the natural or educational environment for learning.
  • Determine level of service based upon current assessment(s).
  • Draft and implement Individual Education Program (IEP) based upon student needs.
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team in planning and implementing student programs.
  • Direct intervention with the child present, individually or in groups.
  • Review the intervention plan on an ongoing basis and dependent on the child's response, modify as needed.
  • Prepare specialized materials and devices.
  • Document student progress and monitor student performance.
  • Delegate and direct the activities or techniques of the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Act as a liaison with related professionals, parents and/or agencies to coordinate student services.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Maintain records and write reports.
  • Act as a resource person in the area of occupational therapy services.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of Occupational Therapy.
  • License to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Oregon.
  • At least two years of experience working as an occupational therapist in a school or clinical setting.

Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a school and office setting.
