Position Summary:
The Multimedia Support Specialist will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of all audiovisual (A/V) and information technology (IT) systems to ensure optimal functionality. This position will support a diverse range of events, including high-profile conferences, meetings, and presentations, guaranteeing smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Setup and Operation:

  • Assemble and manage A/V equipment, such as microphones, sound systems, video displays, projectors, and related electronic devices for various events.
  • Ensure all A/V and IT systems are thoroughly tested and operational at least one hour prior to event commencement.
  • Provide Secure Video Teleconferencing (SVTC) capabilities.
  • Configure and operate control systems, lighting, and audio systems.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize event disruptions.
  • Maintain and update equipment inventory and provide technical documentation for SVTC system accreditation.
Customer Service:
  • Deliver outstanding customer support for each event.
  • Respond to urgent requests within specified timeframes and resolve issues accordingly.
  • Assist clients with A/V equipment usage and provide training as necessary.
Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with event coordinators to assess presentation needs and support requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT and other personnel to ensure comprehensive technical support for events.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff and leadership regarding event logistics and security matters.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and submit reports on equipment status, activities, and post-event evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols, including managing access to sensitive information and systems.
Essential Skills:
  • Professional and courteous customer service.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing event demands and priorities.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in professional A/V systems management, operations, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of event management practices and audiovisual technology.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Hirsch Velocity Software and managing Hirsch Security Systems.
  • Security+ certification is preferred.
  • Physical capability to lift 50-80 pounds, stand, walk, and navigate confined spaces.
Special Requirements:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Availability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
