Your Role

The Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level III within the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division undertakes physical labor tasks at solar energy facilities. This role is pivotal in the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power installations, adhering to established preventative and corrective maintenance protocols while prioritizing safety and professionalism. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar tools.
  • Test and troubleshoot installed equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Exhibit a strong safety background, including experience with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Safely operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and insurance requirements.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) for solar power facilities is essential.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance on Solar Utility Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment is mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills are required.
  • Preferred experience with solar technologies such as Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment.
  • Proactive in escalating site issues as necessary.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
  • A high level of aptitude and a robust work ethic are essential.

Work Environment

  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
  • Work outdoors in varying ambient temperatures.
  • Lift and move equipment as required (up to 50 pounds).
  • Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on-call service via telephone/text.
  • Travel may be required to support company operations (up to 25% travel).

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
