Your Role

The Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level III within the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division is tasked with performing physical labor at solar energy facilities. This role is crucial for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants, adhering to established preventative and corrective maintenance protocols while prioritizing safety and professionalism. Candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the operational sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar tools.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Uphold a strong safety record, with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Safely operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and insurance requirements.

Core Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) for solar power plants is essential.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance for Solar Utility Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment is required.
  • Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Preferred experience with solar equipment such as Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment.
  • Proactive in escalating site issues as necessary.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
  • A strong work ethic and high aptitude are essential.

Work Environment

At Pearce, safety is our top priority. Candidates must comply with OSHA standards.

  • Must reside within a reasonable distance from the operational sites.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
  • Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on-call service as required.
  • Travel may be necessary to support company operations (up to 25% travel).
