Fireproofing and Scaffold Superintendent with Gulf Coast Industrial

Job Summary
The Fireproofing/Scaffold Superintendent is a senior craft person responsible for overseeing the construction of scaffolding and the application of fireproofing materials. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage crews and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and leadership to understand job scope and schedule.
- Conduct regular crew meetings and toolbox talks to ensure clear understanding of tasks and expectations.
- Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring compliance with project safety program requirements.
- Oversee direct manpower at the job site, ensuring cost and scheduling efficiency.
- Perform administrative duties such as inventory management, safety meetings, fall plans, hazard analysis, payroll, and equipment rental.
- Review and understand the pre-job plan to ensure accurate execution.
- Document and account for out-of-scope work to facilitate change orders.
- Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and employment laws.
- Manage and communicate with foremen on their work, correcting processes as needed.
- Estimate leg footage and man hours for projects.
- Ensure accurate loading, unloading, and storage of materials and equipment.
- Responsible for proper use and care of GCI and client facilities and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) standards.
- Estimate material and worker requirements for job completion.
- Assign work to employees.
- Ensure accurate time records and proper reporting of man-hours, materials, and quantities.
- Analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures.
- Ensure workers are proficient in GCI best practices.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent.
- Excellent oral communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers.
- Strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees to achieve strategic goals.
- Ability to present a clean professional image and encourage subordinates to do the same.
- 5 years of craft experience in commercial or industrial markets and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Decision-making based on measurable criteria.
- Basic mathematics and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing programs, spreadsheets, email platforms, and other communication tools.
- Ability to work at heights without fear.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must have knowledge of safe work practices.
- Understanding of scope-of-contract and change order process.
