Fireproofing and Scaffold Superintendent

About the Role:
The Fireproofing and Scaffold Superintendent is a senior craft person responsible for overseeing the construction of scaffolding and applying fireproofing materials. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct crews in the construction of scaffolding and application of fireproofing materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment.
- Manage crew schedules and resources to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Perform administrative tasks such as inventory management, safety reporting, and payroll processing.
- Review and understand project plans to ensure accurate execution.
- Document and track out-of-scope work for change order purposes.
- Manage and communicate with foremen on their work and correct any issues as needed.
- Estimate material and labor requirements for projects.
- Assign work to employees and ensure accurate time records.
- Analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of craft experience in commercial or industrial markets and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work at heights and follow safety protocols.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
