Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting repairs and upkeep on a diverse range of machinery, systems, and structures, including laboratory apparatus and outdoor equipment. This role reports directly to the Supervisor and may involve assisting with various trade-related tasks as needed.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute a variety of maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Carry out minor carpentry, masonry, and structural repairs.
  • Address plumbing system repairs, including roof and area drainage, door mechanisms, and other essential building components.
  • Maintain and repair pumps, outdoor machinery, air compressors, and assorted mechanical devices.
  • Service laboratory and laboratory support equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance support within the last three (3) years.
  • Completion of technical training or similar programs, such as military or industry training, is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to determine effective work methods to complete assignments.
  • Perform tasks in compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Possess multi-skilled experience.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
