Job Overview:

Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal Specialist to support our growing litigation and investigative support practice area. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional, accurate, timely, and reliable paralegal support to assist our litigating teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us navigate the complexities associated with data proliferation and the growing technical and legal challenges of eDiscovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide paralegal support to assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including research, document review, and case management.
  • Conduct research, locate responsive information, identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use.
  • Review case material and identify potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed case files, including case summaries, witness lists, and exhibit lists.
  • Assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, exhibits, etc.
  • Conduct legal analysis, review documents for relevance and privilege, and assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.

Requirements:

  • Active and maintained Top Secret federal security clearance.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience, such as litigation paralegal experience or FOIA analyst experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of legal research tools, such as LEXIS NEXIS, Westlaw, and Pacer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience with trial experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Successful completion of a Law Degree or Paralegal Studies/Certificate.
  • Experience with all phases of litigation, including assisting with discovery requests and responses; drafting motions and briefs; organizing exhibits, and assisting at trial.
  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and hands-on familiarity with computer platforms that assist with document review and case management.
  • General knowledge of ESI tools and e-discovery procedures and resources is desired.
