Clinical Nurse - Allergy and Immunology Outpatient Services

Position Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our Allergy and Immunology outpatient services team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will deliver both direct and telephonic nursing care, engage in health education, advocate for patients, supervise care provided by others, and coordinate necessary services for patients outside of the outpatient care setting, ensuring that all interactions are age-appropriate and developmentally suitable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ evidence-based assessment techniques and advanced interviewing methods to gather relevant data from patients, families, or specific populations.
  • Create and continually refine individualized care plans for patients seeking assistance with health promotion, health challenges, or situational health issues.
  • Prioritize and implement care interventions in collaboration with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
  • Conduct evaluations and follow-ups on care provided, adapting to the patient's evolving needs or requests.
  • Involve the patient's family and caregivers in understanding and participating in the care plan.
  • Utilize ongoing assessment data to update diagnoses, expected outcomes, and care plans as necessary.
  • Exhibit patient advocacy through effective responses to care-related issues and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Qualifications


All candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any recommended booster doses, unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or an Associate's Degree in Nursing with current enrollment in a BSN program, or a Technical Diploma in Nursing with a similar agreement.
  • Verification of BSN equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
  • Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, basic anatomy and physiology, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate and perform essential nursing competencies.
  • Experience with EPIC systems is highly preferred.
