Key Responsibilities
The CNS is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to a diverse array of patients, performing comprehensive nursing evaluations, assisting in medical examinations and treatments, providing patient education, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
This role requires effective and efficient direct patient care, addressing the needs of patients with complex medical conditions.
The CNS collaborates closely with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care, striving for optimal treatment outcomes.
Clinical Competence
In this position, the nurse showcases clinical proficiency in delivering care, utilizing technology, administering medications, executing procedures, and managing emergencies, while advocating for patient and family rights.
Leadership and Collaboration
The CNS takes on leadership roles with increasing responsibilities, which may include participating in or leading unit governance initiatives, serving as a charge nurse, or mentoring new staff and students.

Prioritizes care based on individual patient needs and preferences, advocating for patients to address clinical and ethical concerns.
Quality and Safety
Follows established standards of care and regulatory requirements, identifying areas for improvement based on evidence-based practices.
Coordinates care for complex patients, utilizing clinical judgment and documentation to support care decisions.
Financial Responsibility
Manages time effectively, ensuring timely documentation and minimizing unnecessary overtime while contributing to the unit's budgetary needs.
Growth and Innovation
Identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and unit operations, presenting evidence-based solutions to leadership.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
