Job SummaryThis is a full-time position responsible for Contract Administration of CEI work for FDOT projects. The successful candidate will perform basic contract administration functions for civil transportation projects, working under the supervision of the Project Administrator and Senior Project Engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
- Analyze contract quantities to prevent overruns and underruns
- Become proficient in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface to surface comparison software and Engineering Menu
- Understand and prepare survey data for use in software
- Generate accurate earthwork quantities from software
- Exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to office aspects of the project
- Perform work under general supervision of Project Administrator
- Familiarity with Department's Procedures covering project related duties
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- For personnel with engineering, engineering technology, and construction management degrees: No prior experience required
- For personnel without engineering, engineering technology or construction management degrees: 4 years of CEI experience or 2 years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD
- CTQP Final Estimates Level II required
- A valid Driver's License with safe driving record and pre-employment screening
This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds, travel to FDOT Offices and Project Offices, and work in various types of weather and field conditions.
