Position Overview

This role oversees the Quality department within the Linear and Transfer Systems Value Stream, acting as a Quality Engineer for select programs while supervising a team of Quality Engineers (QEs) and Quality Inspectors (QIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes performance objectives for QEs and QIs and conducts evaluations.
  • Allocates program tasks to QEs and QIs to meet team requirements.
  • Assists the Value Stream Manager in achieving SQDC performance goals.
  • Facilitates the implementation of quality initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of an effective Quality Management System across various sites.
  • Monitors and tracks Value Stream NCR, CAPA, and COPQ performance metrics.
  • Guides QEs through assigned programs from proposal to customer delivery, ensuring compliance with requirements and meeting EBAD's cost and delivery standards.
  • Supports and advises the program QE during customer and internal quality audits, approving necessary responses.
  • Leads and manages effective Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for failures within the Value Stream.
  • Engages in new product development initiatives.
  • Reviews product specifications and approves Inspection Plans for QEs.
  • Participates in Change Control Board and Nonconformance Review Board activities.
  • Assists the program QE in maintaining product First Article status in line with customer and AS9102 standards.
  • Utilizes Lean Manufacturing methodologies to enhance product quality and minimize defects.
  • Communicates and collaborates with a diverse range of personnel, including Technicians, Quality Engineers, Value Stream Manager, Planners, Program Managers, Product Engineers, and Design Engineers to support program objectives.
  • Engages with suppliers and customers regarding program quality specifications.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds an AS/BS degree in a scientific or engineering field and possesses relevant experience in quality engineering.

Essential experience includes:
  • Interpreting customer specifications and developing effective quality plans that align with EBAD and customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement principles, along with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
