Position Overview:

The primary responsibility is to enhance a management framework for extensive computational systems through automation. Key focus areas include operating system updates, vulnerability management, and their corresponding mitigations and remediations across both Windows and Linux platforms.

By leveraging a combination of proprietary and commercial software, our team manages the deployment and supervision of a broad computational infrastructure that supports various software engineering teams. This role is crucial in formulating architectural strategies and standards aimed at optimizing the management of software development environment resources, thereby fostering efficiency and consistency in resource provisioning and management, whether on-premises or in public cloud settings.

The individual will actively contribute to and mentor teams in developing automation solutions for operational and software development tasks.

Additional duties include refining internally developed applications and creating declarative code using tools such as Puppet and Ansible.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in designing and implementing automation solutions for operational and software development teams, with essential experience in tools like Puppet and Ansible.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, including Automation Specialists, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Capacity to analyze intricate technical challenges and devise effective solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with configuring and managing large-scale infrastructure components using configuration management tools.
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies and practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and version control systems like Git.
  • Commitment to staying informed about the latest technologies and trends in automation, DevOps, and infrastructure management to foster innovation and improvement within the organization.

Desirable Skills:

  • Architectural Design: Ability to assist in establishing architectural strategies and standards for managing software development environment resources.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including resource provisioning and management in a cloud environment.
  • Technical Documentation: Development of process and tool documentation for sharing with teammates and other teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • Software Development (5+ yrs) experience with Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Puppet, Ansible, and web application development is highly desirable. Experience in Ruby, PHP, and SQL is also advantageous.
  • Windows System Administration experience (5+ yrs)
  • Proficiency in Server & Client OS
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Applications (Teams, Office, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Break-fix and troubleshooting skills for both individual endpoints and at scale.
  • Linux System Administration experience (2+ yrs)
  • RHCE certification is a plus.

  • Experience with PXE and Kickstart is also desirable.
  • Knowledge of Vulnerability Management in both Linux and Windows environments.
