About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Support Sales Representative to join our team at H.O. Penn Machinery. As a key member of our Parts and Service Departments, you will play a crucial role in promoting department offerings and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and Submit Written Quotes: Develop and submit written quotes based on machine inspections, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Promote and Utilize Caterpillar and Company Merchandising Programs: Effectively promote and utilize Caterpillar and company merchandising programs to increase part products and service labor market shares.
  • Assist in the Development of New Parts and Service Merchandising Programs: Collaborate with the team to develop new parts and service merchandising programs that drive business growth.
  • Generate New Sales Opportunities: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities by targeting new accounts and developing strategic relationships.
Enhance Customer and Company Relationships
  • Assist Customers in Achieving Lowest Operating Costs: Provide customers with total repair solutions to minimize operating costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Participate in CAT Care Meetings and Open Houses: Engage with customers through CAT Care meetings and open houses to build strong relationships and promote company offerings.
  • Perform Customer Training: Utilize key sales support materials to train customers on company products and services.
  • Coordinate Shop Repairs: Collaborate with company and customer personnel to coordinate shop repairs and ensure timely completion.
  • Mediate Customer and Departmental Disputes: Effectively resolve customer and departmental disputes to maintain strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Effectively Manage Territorial Developments
  • Communicate Machine Sales Leads: Share machine sales leads with the sales department to drive business growth.
  • Maintain Timely Equipment Population Records: Schedule timely customer sales calls to maintain accurate equipment population records.
  • Maintain Knowledge of Competitive Pricing and Offerings: Stay up-to-date on competitive pricing and offerings to ensure company remains competitive in the market.
  • Maintain Knowledge of Local Business Projects and Trends: Stay informed about local business projects and trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Submit Lost Sales Reports: Provide regular lost sales reports to the management team to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Clean and Valid Driver's License: Possess a clean and valid driver's license, as this position requires regular travel throughout the territory.
  • 3+ Years of Related Industry Experience: Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the heavy equipment or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Equipment/Construction Industry: Possess knowledge of the heavy equipment or construction industry, including its trends and best practices.
  • Experience with CRM System: Have experience working with a CRM system to manage customer relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Experience in Outside Sales/Consultant Role: Have experience working in an outside sales or consultant role, with a strong understanding of sales strategies and customer relationships.
  • Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Delivering Presentations: Have experience delivering presentations to customers and stakeholders, with a strong ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Computer Proficient: Be computer proficient, with a strong understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
