Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Technology Asset & Materials Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the management of technology-related materials and supplies. This role includes planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of various telecommunications and IT equipment across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate the work of staff maintaining inventory records and managing material requirements.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to assess material support operations and adjust inventory levels as necessary.
- Engage with users and vendors to ensure quality service and resolve any issues related to orders.
- Participate in product evaluations and assist in drafting specifications for major supply contracts.
- Analyze inventory levels and recommend adjustments based on usage statistics.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies in alignment with city purchasing guidelines.
- Oversee the training and performance evaluation of subordinate staff.
- Lead projects aimed at enhancing asset management systems and workflows.
Job Type:
This is a permanent exempt, full-time position that is not subject to the competitive civil service examination process.
Work Environment:
The majority of work will be conducted within the Department of Technology, with occasional travel required within the city.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least three years of experience in managing complex inventory systems, including supervisory experience.
Desired Skills:
Experience with asset management systems, knowledge of ITIL Asset Management, and proficiency in data analysis are preferred.
