Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Process Engineering Specialist will engage in customer evaluations and modeling projects. This role is pivotal in refining the "Crown" Process and Equipment designs, facilitating the transfer of data from the Plant Model to Aspen Custom Modeler. The responsibilities encompass computational fluid dynamics, energy and mass balance assessments, process modeling, fluid dynamics, and thermal transfer utilizing cutting-edge modeling technologies, advanced engineering measurements, and analytical computations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct facility evaluations and modeling initiatives aimed at enhancing client operations in energy efficiency, production yield, capacity, and resource consumption.
  • Innovate and design processes and equipment to elevate the industries we serve, starting with theoretical frameworks, followed by modeling and suggested enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Field Services teams to implement proposed improvements across various processing capabilities, including Extraction, Preparation, Specialty, Refining, and SPC.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in computer-aided engineering and analytical methodologies, including process and equipment modeling.
  • Provide engineering expertise, support, and technical guidance to project managers, process engineers, sales personnel, and design teams.
  • Execute engineering calculations and analyses pertinent to process design and equipment selection.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in:
    • Theoretical engineering principles for process performance estimation.
    • Aspen Custom Modeler or similar simulation software.
    • Developing customized engineering models for simulating material and energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, energy and mass transfer, separation technologies, chemical reaction kinetics, and reactor design.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehend and adhere to verbal and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, creating value for clients and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with Aspen Custom Modeler or equivalent software is essential.
  • Preferred knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, CAD Vault, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a second language, preferably European or Asian, is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time.
