Inventory Planner and Buyer

At API International Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Planner and Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our Logistics Department, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, planning and purchasing inventory to support customers' needs, and ensuring timely deliveries from domestic suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of import inventory planning experience, moderate to advanced Excel skills, and the ability to negotiate and manage pricing for optimum margin. A Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or operations management is highly preferred.

The Inventory Planner and Buyer will perform a variety of administrative duties, including:

  • Issuing, monitoring, and problem-solving domestic flip purchase orders.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, planning, and reviewing purchase orders for assigned domestic stock lines.
  • Ensuring timely deliveries from domestic suppliers.
  • Requesting quotes and negotiating pricing.
  • Maintaining and updating internal databases.
  • Expediting POs as needed for domestic stock product lines.
  • Reviewing open PO reports for date accuracy and coordinating updates with domestic suppliers.
  • Supporting Import buyers as needed for date maintenance.
  • Reviewing preliminary invoices and containers for accuracy and approval back to suppliers for import purchases.
  • Logistics administration as assigned.
