Senior Accountant Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting for P&C insurance operations, as well as statutory accounting and reporting as needed.
  • Work closely with our team to perform accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close cycles.
  • Establish, document, and perform internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform complex accounting activities, including working with multiple financial systems and utilizing key interfaces and interdependencies to extract data for financial reporting needs.
  • Make enhancements to financial systems and associated processes, and participate in or lead their implementation.
  • Coordinate with Risk Management, Actuarial, Treasury, Finance, and other stakeholders to achieve results.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience is required.
  • Advanced Excel expertise preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with NAIC quarterly and annual statement content and preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
