About the Role:

The Senior Account Executive is a field-based, direct sales role responsible for both client retention as well as growth through contract expansion and the introduction of new products and services. You will consult with C-level executives to develop and implement an effective, enterprise-wide strategy that maximizes the value delivered by Gartner's products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Develop and execute account plans to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Quota Management: Meet or exceed sales targets for contract value within a designated territory of major client accounts.
  • Sales Methodology: Master and consistently execute Gartner's sales methodology to drive sales success.
  • Account Planning and Territory Management: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of client organizations, industries, and markets to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain accurate forecasts and provide regular sales performance updates to management.
  • Competitive Knowledge and Focus: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Product and Service Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Gartner's products and services to effectively communicate value to clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8-15 years of experience in consultative sales, preferably in high technology (services, software, or consultative environment), with a proven track record of sales success.
  • Skills: Strong intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales acumen, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Client Relationships: Proven experience building and maintaining excellent client relationships at the C-level within large enterprise organizations.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree, desired.
