Job Title: Production Planner

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team in Los Alamos, NM. As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing schedules from scratch, evaluating resource analysis, and providing support to project team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop schedules from ground up under the supervision of the RLM/Team Lead
  • Evaluate and perform resource analysis & Work Center deconfliction
  • Provide support, scheduling assistance and education to project team members
  • Develop schedule templates for future use
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all project team members
  • Review and verify all project-related scheduling information with project teams
  • Submit and present schedules and progress reports at project meetings

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of production and inventory control and planning methods
  • Knowledge of relevant Laboratory procedures, standards and guides
  • Knowledge of inventory management and control practices, including cycle counting and physical inventory management practices
  • Knowledge of resource planning and optimization practices as well as multi-organization resource integration processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior P6 training and knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in a manufacturing or production organization requiring implementation of defined manufacturing, testing and quality requirements
  • Demonstrated experience achieving required objectives in a production environment
  • Demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement concepts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conduct of operations principles

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
